In addition to individualized care, KDSP regularly organizes vision and hearing screening camps at our facility — inviting hundreds of families from our network to bring their children for essential check-ups. These camps provide free, high-quality screenings and connect families to follow-up care if needed, ensuring no child’s health goes overlooked.

For children registered with KDSP who show signs of emotional or behavioral challenges, we offer behavior therapy services to support self-regulation, communication, and overall emotional well-being. These services are tailored to each child’s needs and provided in a safe, supportive environment.

In 2017, KDSP partnered with Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) to launch a one-stop Down Syndrome Clinic, making healthcare access simpler for families.
Before this, parents faced difficulty finding trained specialists for their child’s unique health needs. Now, they can consult multiple experts — all under one roof — through this dedicated clinic designed for individuals with Down syndrome.

KDSP has a strategic partnership with SIUT Hospital, a state-of-the-art center for advanced cardiac and thoracic care, offering specialized treatment, critical care units, and medical training in cardiothoracic sciences. Through this partnership, KDSP refers its registered clients for echocardiograms (echo tests) and scheduled cardiology follow-up appointments along with surgical procedures. Moreover, the DS Arena Camp is held every month at SIUT where KDSP-registered clients can access multiple key services in one day, including cardiologist consultations, general pediatric check-ups, nutrition support and guidance, physical therapy input, and nutritionist assessments.

This one-day multidisciplinary initiative follows a holistic and integrated model of care, ensuring families benefit from coordinated, comprehensive, and well-rounded healthcare support.

A General Physician Clinic is held every Friday at KDSP, where a renowned and trusted doctor conducts in-house consultations for KDSP-registered clients. Children who are unwell or experiencing common health concerns including seasonal illnesses, fever, stomach pain, and other symptoms are referred for evaluation at this clinic. Following the assessment, the doctor provides medical guidance and family counseling, prescribes medicines, and recommends diagnostic tests or specialist referrals when needed, ensuring timely and accessible primary care support.

Once a month, a renowned developmental pediatrician from Aga Khan University Hospital visits KDSP to conduct an in-house clinic. Clients are referred to this specialist if they present developmental concerns, including seizures, delayed milestones, behavioral or learning challenges, and related neurological conditions. This clinic enables families to receive expert evaluation, clinical advice, and care planning from a highly qualified professional within a familiar and supportive environment.

KDSP actively collaborates with hospitals, medical colleges, and universities to raise awareness and strengthen medical understanding of Down syndrome and associated healthcare needs. Through these Medical Sensitization Sessions, an expert doctor associated with KDSP share their clinical insights and and provide evidence-based medical knowledge to students, healthcare professionals, and academic audiences. These sessions support KDSP’s mission to promote inclusion, improve medical practices, and empower professionals through specialized expertise and advocacy-driven awareness.
