Hunar
(Skills Development)
Skills Development at KDSP focuses on building practical and meaningful skills in individuals with Down syndrome through vocational training, hobby-based learning, and functional skills programs. The objective of KDSP’s Hunar initiative is to promote functional independence, empowering individuals with Down syndrome to lead more confident, self-reliant, and fulfilling lives.

Skills Lab – Vocational Training Programs
Skills Lab is a space where students learn and grow through weekly, hands-on activities designed to support holistic development. Students focus on daily life skills, fine and gross motor abilities, social interaction, cognitive skills, and hobby-based vocational activities. These sessions strengthen physical coordination, build confidence in social settings, and promote greater independence in everyday life. Skills Lab also serves as a creative and therapeutic outlet, allowing students to explore their abilities in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Our creative and skills-based programs are tailored to empower, engage, and uplift participants:

Education for Life (Ages 14+)
The Education for Life Program is a program designed for adults (14+ years) with Down syndrome to help them on their journey to become independent individuals. This EFL program consists of classes that focus on life skills, academics, vocational skills and physical fitness. The primary goal of this program is to give an opportunity to adults with Down syndrome to have a routine setup, where they can have something productive to look forward to on a daily basis and become as functional as possible. The secondary goal entails to make these functional and skilled adults economically empowered and socially independent.

Student Internships
At the heart of our mission is the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to shine in the workplace. Our students have stepped into exciting internship roles across a range of industries — from marketing and HR to administration and teaching — showing the world what they’re capable of. Here’s a look at where their journeys have taken them so far:

Lehr by KDSP
Lehr by KDSP is our brand run by crafters with Down syndrome, where they are trained to create a wide range of beautiful handmade products, from cushions to unique art pieces. Every item is crafted with skill, creativity, and love in areas such as sewing and stitching, weaving, jewelry making, clay pottery, painting, paper crafts, and block and screen printing. All proceeds go directly back to the crafters, promoting financial independence and dignity while celebrating their talent and craftsmanship.
Corporates, universities, and community groups can also invite Lehr by KDSP to set up stalls at their events, festivals, or fairs. By showcasing and selling these handmade products at different platforms, you not only support the financial empowerment of our students but also help spread awareness and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome.

KDSP Kafe
KDSP Kafe is our in-house brand led by students with Down syndrome, where they are trained in practical culinary skills and gain hands-on experience in a real working environment. From baking rich brownies and delightful tea cakes to preparing flavorful savory items and more, our trainees bring passion, precision, and pride to every creation. Through KDSP Kafe, students build confidence, independence, and job-ready skills while showcasing their abilities through quality, thoughtfully made food.
We bring more than just great flavors—businesses and communities can invite KDSP Kafe to their meetups, corporate events, university festivals, and local pop-ups, creating opportunities to enjoy delicious treats while supporting an inclusive cause. Every bite helps us build a more accepting and empowering society.
